Mason Jars

I’ve been a little neglectful lately! We are in the process of planning a move and both my husband and myself have been working more than usual. But with the move comes showings and home inspections, neither of which I can be home for so I feel like I’m never here…

Regardless, I have put out a few touches around my house to make it ‘me’ without having family photos and what not out for prospective buyers. I found that spraypaint and embellishments are easy ways to bring mason jars to life and I love having them around my home! I can’t wait to find new places in the new house for them…

{silver-toned spraypaint add a little glam to a short jar…this one holds a few of my favorite rings on my dresser}

{a fun Fall candleholder…dried black beans & candy corn layered with a fun candle}

{my “saving for a rainy day jar”… and purple paint and some crystal stickers make saving in this mini jar much more interesting}

This&That

It feels like it has been raining for weeks here in the Chicagoland area. In actuality, its been a few days but I’m not enjoying it. So I’ve spent this week trying to find things that motivate me and keep me in a good mood until this dreary Fall weather passes…

little baby boots in the rain

a sushi date with my mom made a rainy day that much better!

I handpainted some wooden signs one afternoon to spruce up my front walk for Halloween

Have a great weekend and stay warm if its rainy and chilly where you are!!!

This&That

Summer is in full swing. I don’t care if it ranges from the 70s to the 90s during the day and drops to 53 at night. {Last week we got hit with a cool front I turned the heat on!} But I also don’t care that the calendar says its not official until late June {or whenever}. I’m calling it Summer because I’m more than ready for hot weather, our upcoming fishing vacation to Minnesota, and lazy days in the heat. My neighbors are out grooming their lawns, planting flowers and adding colorful decorations along their front walks. The super nice ’man couple’ across the street always has a lovely display of meticulously arranged colorful planters, yet I can’t seem to keep dust off fake flowers over at my house. Although I have managed to keep my bamboo alive for the past several months, I bask in everyone else’s handywork when I go outside…

my neighbor put out this brilliant blue peacock… i don’t know where she got it, but i’m inclined to go find it a pretty friend…

Happy Summer!!!
