This & That

I’m still reeling from my long weekend in Wisconsin. I have pictures to edit, blog posts to write and memories to record. Here’s a few things from my parents’ house that make me smile…

the hand that holds my mom’s jewelry

the hummingbirds that feed outside the kitchen window – sorry for the poor picture quality. i had to take it through the window because the little buggers wouldn’t come near it if i was outside :(

my little city boy loved the local farm animals!

Have a great weekend! And remember to stop and smile about all the small things!

Kamila Gornia Photography

I’m so excited to post these pictures from a shoot I did a couple weeks ago. I worked all Summer with a photographer planning this concept, and we finally headed downtown to Michigan Ave to make it happen. In addition to the increased traffic from the Air and Water Show, shooting in the middle of Michigan Avenue definitely put a little fear in me. Luckily, nothing bad happened and we got some fantastic shots. Thank you to the talent and passion that is Kamila Gornia Photography.

And yes, we were in the middle of Michigan Ave. These are not edited to appear that way :)

on a ledge. fear of falling hundreds of feet into traffic aside, i’m glad Kamila was able to capture this!

Toddler Tracks

I have a current fascination with train tracks. The way they seemingly go on forever and perfectly frame any photo. So when I was in Wisconsin this weekend, I was determined to make something happen. With my cutie pie sporting some overalls, my mom and I stopped just outside of town for a brief photoshoot with the little man. Yes he was on the tracks {under grandma’s watchful eye} and thanks to a fantastic camera lens some of the shots appear further away than they really are. I promise, no toddlers were harmed in the making of these photos. And thanks to PW {that’s Pioneer Woman for those of you who aren’t on a first initial basis with her}, I got up the guts to play around with a photoshop collage. I love the way they turned out and will definitely venture onto the tracks again…
